In a dramatic turn of events, Delhi University Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vivek Suneja has tendered his resignation. Although nobody wished to come on record given the sensitivity of the whole affair, it is learnt through reliable sources that Prof. Suneja left in a huff following differences with Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Singh.

‘Sharp differences’

“Apparently there were sharp differences between the two and things came to a head at the Viceregal Lodge late on Wednesday night,” said a professor.

Several other professors confirmed the news as common knowledge but were reluctant to come on record.

The Vice-Chancellor is travelling abroad and hence could not be reached for confirmation. Meanwhile, Dean of Colleges Prof. Sudhish Pachauri is the acting Pro Vice-Chancellor. While he did not deny the resignation of Prof. Suneja, he also said that it was not his place to talk of the affair and to speak to the Registrar instead. She, however, could not be contacted.

Prof. Suneja, from the Faculty of Management Studies, used to teach Strategy and International Business and was the Dean (Planning) of the University before becoming Pro Vice-Chancellor.
