JAIPUR: The Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation (RAJFED) has decided to procure agricultural produces worth Rs.174 crore from farmers on the commercial rates in both rabi and kharif seasons during 2010-11. The procurement may also be made on the minimum support prices announced by the Union Government.
RAJFED Administrator, Principal Cooperative Secretary R. K. Meena, said at the cooperative body’s 53rd annual general meeting at Sahakar Bhavan here that 38,000 tonnes of farm produces, including mustard, gram, wheat and barley, would be procured during the rabi season and 19,950 tonnes during the kharif season.
Mr. Meena announced dividend for 2008-09 to the members at the rate of 7 per cent. He said a computerised information system would be developed for the agricultural marketing cooperative societies in the State through a new software, while new godowns would be constructed at Bikaner, Udaipur, Bharatpur and Sriganganagar.
RAJFED has ensured timely supply of di-ammonium phosphate to farmers this year following its advanced storage of 2.60 lakh tonnes of the chemical fertiliser. The cooperative institution is also supplying certified seeds and cattle feed to the farmers across the State.
