HAMIRPUR: The harvest season brought plenty to the house of Babu Ram, a local craftsman at a goldsmith's shop, who won a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakhs in the Punjab Government's Baisakhi bumper lottery draw.

Babu Ram came to know about the prize when he read his lottery ticket number in a Hindi daily and rushed to Pathankot to meet the dealer who had sold the ticket to him. On his return here he told reporters that it was a windfall he did not expect and was very happy.

He said he would leave his present job and construct a house at Pathankot and that his main aim was to give proper education to his three children who are studying in a local school. - PTI
