‘Amma Bhasha Amma Sahitya Pratishtan (ABASP)’, an organisation involved in promotion of Odia language and culture, has decided to launch a campaign seeking classical language status for Odia.
According to ABASP convenor Jayakrushna Gouda, the campaign will include motivating one lakh people of the State to send post cards to the President of India.
The exercise will be completed in next three months.
Speaking to newsmen in the city on Wednesday, Mr. Gouda said the activists of the organisation would also demand a special university for Odia language. If such university was established in Andhra Pradesh to promote Telugu language and culture, why it could not be in Odisha, he said.
