Fan club members celebrate the
event at school
for the blind
BERHAMPUR: Members of the Chiranjeevi Fan Club of the city celebrated the birthday of the megastar on Wednesday with students of a residential girls’ school for the blind. Club president A.V. Chakradhar said that last year they had decided to share the joy with people who lacked it. Last year, they celebrated the occasion at an old-age home. This year, the venue was the school meant for visually challenged girls run by the Orissa Service Centre for the Blind. The celebrations commenced after school hours at around noon. Members of the club treated the students to a feast. Later, the students and the club members showed their expertise at singing. While children sang songs they knew, the members of the club entertained the audience by belting out numbers from films of Chiranjeevi. They also enacted a few popular scenes from his movies.
Later, a large cake was cut to mark the occasion. Toys and balloons were distributed to children. Some members of the club also donated blood.
Club secretary R. Srinavas Rao said social work and creating awareness on blood and eye donation was their motto.
