‘Preparations are in full swing'

The Bihar Youth Congress would send more than 7,500 elected office-bearers from the State to attend the two-day Indian Youth Congress (IYC) convention to be addressed by Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on November 24.

“We have put the preparations into top gear for our support to the proposed IYC conclave in New Delhi on November 24 and November 25... there is lot of enthusiasm among the youths for attending the rally”, State Youth Congress president Lalan Kumar and secretary Sanjeev Singh said after attending a function organised by Sri Bhagwan Singh Memorial Trust.

The function was organised to felicitate renowned social activists at Maner in Patna district.

Mr. Kumar said the State youth Congress would send more than 7,500 elected office-bearers from the State to attend the conclave.

The State Youth Congress president said the rally assumed significance in view of the forthcoming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, participating in the function organised by the Trust, Mr. Kumar called upon politicians and people to rise above the petty caste lines and strive for fostering a new era development in Bihar.

“Politics of caste created major obstacle in the way of development... we all have to rise above the petty caste considerations and work for Aam Adami ”, he said.

The function was attended, among others, by former Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and former Tripura Governor Siddheshwar Prasad. - PTI
