Patna: The Bihar Congress has urged the party high command not to support the RJD-LJP combine in next month's elections for the five Rajya Sabha and seven Vidhan Parishad seats as it could affect the party's prospects in the Assembly polls due later this year.

“We met Sonia Gandhi two days ago to apprise her of our views that the party should not extend support to the RJD-LJP alliance in the forthcoming Rajya Sabha and Vidhan Parishad polls, as the move may have an adverse impact on the prospects of the Congress in the assembly polls,” state Congress president Anil Sharma told reporters here.
