The Uttarakhand Assembly hurriedly passed the State budget on Thursday and was adjourned sine die two days ahead of schedule amid loud protests and chaos by the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party.

The day began with BJP members raising slogans in the well of the House and Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal adjourned the House for an hour. As the pandemonium continued when the House met again, Finance Minister Indira Hirdeyesh pushed through the budgets for various departments which were passed by a voice vote and the Speaker adjourned the House sine die.
