Counselling to begin after June 10

BHUBANESWAR: The wait of hundreds of students anxiously seeking admission into professional courses ended with Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Orissa announcing results of entrance examination here on Thursday.

Nearly 50,000 students had cleared the examination to become eligible for taking admission in engineering colleges across the State. Akash Panigrahi topped in the engineering stream by scoring highest marks in the entrance examination conducted on April 18 last.

As many as 1293 out of 20542 students who sat for medical entrance test successfully held ranks.

Based on their ranks, these students would be taking admission into three government medical colleges and one private medical college.

Abinash Nayak from Nayagarh district topped medical entrance examination in the State.

Similarly all 4332 students who had appeared for the test for Master in Computer Application programme had been given ranks. Same was the situation in programmes like Master in Business Administration, Diploma Later Entry and pharmacy.

The counselling for admission process would begin after June 10. JEE authorities said results were announced in record times and ranking cards to successful students would soon be dispatched.

It is to be noted that for the first time there would be online counseling and admission process to be conducted by JEE, Orissa.

Therefore, brochure detailing procedures of online admission would also be sent to students.

The roll number would be used as log in ID. Facilitation centres set up by JEE authorities would render necessary assistance to students and parents.
