BHUBANESWAR: The 14th edition of Lok Mahotsav, the annual national folk festival being hosted by the Sambalpur District Council of Culture at Sambalpur, the cultural capital of Western Orissa, concluded on Saturday. A major event in the State’s annual cultural calendar, the three-day festival was supported by the Departments of Tourism and Culture of Government of Orissa and Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata,

Like the immensely popular handlooms of Sambalpur region, the Sambalpuri dance and music could also conquer the world, opined Governor M.C.Bhandare who inaugurated the festival. “Culture and handloom of Wetsern Orissa region has been great asset of the State that has made the State proud worldwide,” he observed.

The festival that was being held every year from January 4 to 6 was rescheduled this year causing loss of tourists’ footfall. “It would be hosted in January hereafter as usual,” announced District Collector H.K.Dash.
