PUDUCHERRY: Puduvai Vaani, the Community Radio Station of Pondicherry University, is conducting an array of competitions for school students to mark the National Science Day celebrations. Students studying in high and higher secondary schools in Puducherry can participate.
The competitions are being conducted by Puduvai Vaani, faculty and students of Centre for Electronic Media and Mass Communication of the university along with Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Puducherry. The competitions would be held on February 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at seminar hall, first floor, Convention Centre, opposite Pondicherry Engineering College, Kalapet, according to a release.
Talk, drama and songs on “Gender equity for prosperity with peace” would form part of the celebrations. A maximum of two participants from each school could participate in the talk, which would be for five minutes each in Tamil/English.
For drama, there could be a maximum of four to six participants. It would be for five to seven minutes each in Tamil/English. A maximum of two participants would be allowed for songs, which would be for three to five minutes each in Tamil/English.
A science quiz, with maximum of two participants, in Tamil/English would also be held, besides a spot science topic contest with maximum of two participants from each school.
All programmes would be recorded in audio format and students have been requested to prepare their programmes in the appropriate style.
