CUTTACK: In view of the prevailing heat wave condition, the State government on Tuesday effected a minor change in the schedule and timing of the Ex-regular Matriculation examinees.

Instead of March 18 as declared earlier, the Ex-regular (old and new) examinations would now begin from March 27 and the examinations would continue till April 8, informed State Board of Secondary Education (BSE) President Dharanidhar Nath. Similarly, the examinations would be held between 7.30 am and 10 am everyday instead of 11 am to 2.30 pm as announced earlier, Mr. Nath added saying notifications to this effect would be made soon. The Board President, however, made it clear that there would be no change in the programme and timing of the regular matriculation examinations which are scheduled to begin from March 18 and the examinations would be held between 7.30 am and 10 am everyday.

This year 3,45,645 students from 7,343 High Schools would appear the examination in regular stream at 1,722 examination centres. As per the decision taken earlier, the students would be given an extra 10 minutes time before writing their papers to go through the question papers.
