CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Cabinet on Friday decided to order a vigilance enquiry into the circumstances leading to the collapse of a bridge on the Markanda river on Kala Amb-Sadhaura road near Naraingarh on Thursday due to flash floods which killed four persons.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda told media persons here that the enquiry report would be submitted to the Government within 30 days.
The Government would also give an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs each to the next of kin of the four victims. Mr. Hooda said that the Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences at Rohtak would be developed as a Centre of Excellence. The PGI Rohtak doctors would be given enhanced salaries and allowances at par with those of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh.
Mr. Hooda said that the State Government had extended by six months the term of the Justice K.S.Bhalla Commission of enquiry appointed to look into various aspects of the Haryana State Industrial Security Force.
