BERHAMPUR: Sanket Das of Ramahari Nagar Saraswati Sishu Vidyamandir of Berhampur made his school proud by becoming joint topper in the secondary school board examinations conducted by the Orissa Board of Secondary Examinations (BSE).
Swetaswini Nayak of the same school was placed in the 14th position in the list of top 20 students in the examination. The BSE declared its results on Tuesday. It was a joyous day in the school. The headmaster of the school, Sunil Kumar Gouda was too elated.
Mr Gouda said hard work of the students and the continuous guidance of the students brought this accolade for the school. He also added that regular interaction of parents of students with the teachers regarding the studies of the students also played a major role in the success. It may be noted that the students of the school also had 100 per cent result in the BSE examination. All of the 134 students who had appeared for the secondary school board examination passed. One hundred and twelve of them passed in first division.
Last year three students of this school were in the toppers list. They were Debasish Patnaik and Ashis Padhi in fourth rank, Akankhya Biswal in fifth rank. The teachers of the school had opted for re-evaluation of answer sheets of some of the students of the school which had led to addition of Aknakhya in the toppers list.
Sanket said he aspired to become a technocrat and his aim was to study in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He said his elder sister had played a major role in his success by guiding him in hi studies. His sister had missed to have her name among the top 20 students in the secondary board examination last year by a few marks.
