Pratapgarh (U.P.): Anti-corruption sleuths on Friday caught a police officer red-handed while accepting Rs 5000 as bribe, police said.

Acting on a complaint of a person that Sub-inspector Rajendra Pratap Singh, under Mandhata police station area, was demanding bribe for registering a case, the sleuths of the anti-corruption bureau, Faizabad laid a trap and arrested him, they said.

A case has been registered against the SI and he has been sent to jail, they added.
