PUDUCHERRY: Lieutenant Governor Govind Singh Gurjar and leaders belonging to different political parties on Monday greeted Chief Minister N.Rangasamy on his 59th birthday.

Mr.Gurjar visited the Chief Minister’s residence in Thattanchavady and presented him a shawl.

Among those who greeted Mr. Rangasamy at his residence were Lok Sabha Member M. Ramadass, convenor of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and former Chief Minister R. V. Janakiraman and Members of the Legislative Assembly belonging to the Congress, DMK, Pattali Makkal Katchi and Puducherry Munnetra Congress. Several functionaries of the Congress also presented shawls and bouquets to him.

A large number of supporters, cutting across party line thronged his residence. Supporters of the Chief Minister, predominantly from Thattanchavady constituency, queued up at his residence from early morning to greet him on the occasion.

His supporters also performed special pujas in temples and organised programmes to distribute food and clothing materials to the poor.
