Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday announced ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh each to the next of the kin of those killed in the worst-ever temple tragedy in Himachal Pradesh, which left 145 dead and over 50 injured. On getting the information about the incident, the Chief Minister spoke to his counterpart in Himachal Pradesh Prem Kumar Dhumal and offered all possible help, Badal’s Media Advisor Harcharan Bains said.
“He has also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh to the next of the kin of the deceased and free medical aid to the injured,” he said. Mr. Badal has also directed the senior police officers from Ropar to reach Anandpur Sahib along with teams of doctors and paramedics to provide immediate first aid to the injured.
145 devotees, including 30 children, were killed and more than 50 injured in the stampede . PTI
