Chandigarh: The Indian Police Services (IPS) cadre officers in Haryana constituted an association on Sunday and decided to take up the matter with regard to “anomalies” in the sixth pay commission with the Centre vigorously.

The association with Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) R. S. Dalal being its patron decided to send a memorandum to the Centre listing “anomalies” in the pay structure proposed for the Director General (DG) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rank and also of the constables, association Secretary General IG (modernisation) B. S. Sandhu told reporters after the first ever election of the body at Panchkula near here.

“After the sixth pay commission, the constabulary in the State police will become at par with a class four employee as far as salary structure is concerned,” he said.

To go into the depth of “problems” in the pay structures of the rank of DG, DIG and constables, a three-member committee has been constituted with ADGP (law and order) V. B. Singh as its head. – PTI
