Five-year-old Obeadh eyes Guinness glory
PUDUCHERRY: A huge crowd gathered on the Beach Road to witness five-year-old P. Obeadh’s feat on Sunday evening. He made an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by limbo skating below the wheels of five moving cars.
Chief Minister N. Rangasamy inaugurated the event.
A taekwondo student, Obeadh has been undergoing regular coaching in roller skating. He is studying in Standard I at Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School.
Using a combination of roller skating and skills acquired through taekwondo, Obeadh went under the moving cars with ease.
Prior to this feat, Obeadh underwent a training of skating under a rope placed 6.5 inches above the ground. After this, he practised limbo skating under moving vehicles for the last one month, putting in a minimum of four hours of practice every day, taekwondo coach and general secretary of Puducherry Taekwondo Sports Association P. Staline said.
As the crowd cheered, Obeadh skated under the five cars 100 times to complete the feat. Obeadh had exhibited flexibility in his body and legs during taekwondo classes during practice, he added.
However, the boy performed the feat without wearing a helmet, leaving safety concerns behind.
