PUDUCHERRY: The Directorate of School Education has centralised admissions for 50 per cent of seats in Class XI at government higher secondary schools. Students of government and private schools can apply through centralised admission system, application forms for which will be issued from June 8.
In a press release here, the director of School Education, S. Sundaravadivelu, said that 50 per cent of seats in each group of Class XI in government higher secondary schools should be filled according to existing reservation system and on the basis of marks obtained.
Government schools should fill these seats with students who had completed Class X in the same institution. Admissions for these seats would be conducted at the respective government higher secondary schools from June 8.
The remaining 50 per cent of seats in the government higher secondary schools would go to the centralised admission system for students of both government and private schools. Application forms for admission through the centralised system would be issued from June 8. Students could obtain the forms from the schools where they had completed Class X, the release said.
On the space earmarked for marks on the forms, the students should get the signature of their school principal and attach xerox copies of specified certificates. Private candidates could obtain the forms from the office of the Joint Director at the Directorate of School Education.
The filled-in forms could be submitted at any of the following centres before 5.45 p.m. on June 15 : Joint Director Office, Directorate of School Education, Perunthalaivar Kamaraj Educational Complex, Anna Nagar, Manimegalai Government Girls Higher Secondary, Nellithope, Calve College Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Chevalier Sellane Government Higher Secondary School, Kalapet, Vivekananda Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Villianur, Kalaignar Karunanidhi Government Higher Secondary School, Kalitheerthalkuppam, Kasturibai Gandhi Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bahour, and Annai Sivagami Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mudaliarpet.
The date and place of interview for admission under the centralised system would be announced later, the release said.
Meanwhile, the directorate said that private schools should admit students of other schools in case there were vacant seats after admitting their own students. The schools should admit students based on the directorate’s admission guidelines issued last year.
