After critical acclaim at home and abroad at different film festivals, the world launch of the DVD of ace director Aparna Sen's Iti Mrinalini took place at a book store here on Sunday.

“I am very happy with the work of Debu (ace music composer Debojyoti Misra). The film was possible because of everybody involved including Debu,” Sen said.

“It's an honour to work with Rinadi (as Sen is called). And I will be happy to be part of any future project of a director of her calibre,” Mishra said.

Turning to the issue of CD piracy, Sen said: “Hope those who would like to see this film now, will buy this original DVD and thus help fight piracy”.

She expressed happiness the way the film was received globally and by the people here.

The DVD also comprises details about the making of the film and first person accounts of the director-actor and her talented daughter-actor Konkona Sen Sharma about their respective roles.

Sen plays the older Mrinalini while Konkona portrays the younger version. - PTI
