The Bihar police arrested an alleged Maoist in Banka district late on Tuesday night.

Rakesh Das alias Dilip Das, resident of Bihar’s Dhokli village in Jamui district, was arrested during a joint-combing operation by the Banka and Jamui police and the Central Reserve Police Force near the Belharna river, Banka Superintendent of Police Vikash Burman told The Hindu .

Das was wanted in over 20 cases in Jamui and four in Banka. “He was quite notorious. His arrest is the result of a sustained operation. He carried a reward of Rs. 50,000 on his head,” Mr. Burman said.
