CUTTACK: More than one lakh devotees are expected to witness Rath Yatra here in the Millennium City which is catching up as local Jagannath temples are making elaborate arrangements for the world famous festival.

At least eight prominent temples in the city, including the Chandini Chowk, Dolamundai, Shankarpur and Raghunathjew temples have completed all preparations for the Friday’s festival which would continue for eight days.

With a view to ensure that the festival ends peacefully in the entire city, the district administration has extended all support to the temples organising the festival. “Necessary police arrangements have been made for the festival on Friday while special emphasis has been given to ensure smooth movement of road traffic in the areas where heavy crowd is expected”, said a police official.
