CUTTACK: The 55th Foundation Day of All India DSO was observed here on Monday with hundreds of students gathering to underline their commitment to go all-out for ensuring a scientific, secular, democratic and universal education system in the country. Claiming that every government either in States or at the Centre after Independence had been working towards lessening the importance of education in the country by hiking tuition fees, reducing school and college seats, the leaders of the outfit said: “DSO has been fighting against it ever since its inception more than five decades ago”.

Students affiliated to the outfit gathered at the city railway station and took out a rally before demonstrating at College Square under the leadership of city unit President Ganesh Tripathy.

SUCI (Communist) leader Biswabasu Das, State vice-president Akshaya Das State secretary Brajabandhu Sahu and city secretary Shibasis Praharaj also addressed the gathering.
