SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh High Court will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year, according to an official spokesman here.
The celebrations, to be inaugurated by Supreme Court Chief Justice K. G. Balakrishnan here, will begin on March 13 and will last a year. Other judges of the Supreme Court are also likely to participate in the inaugural ceremony.
The spokesman said sitting judges as well as former judges from all over the State and members of the High Court Bar would also be invited for the ceremony, which is also likely to be attended by senior officers of the State and the Centre.
A Judicial Officers' Conference on March 13 and 14 here would also be a part of the celebrations.
Other activities, such as Legal Literary Camps, Public Interest Litigation Camps and many other functions, with public participation would be organised throughout the year to mark the celebrations, said the spokesman.
