JAIPUR: Noted scholar Yoginder Sikand on Tuesday clarified that he did not make any observation about the alleged terror outfit Indian Mujahideen at a People’s Tribunal organised here this past weekend, as reported in The Hindu on Sunday.

Dr. Sikand was a member of the jury at the two-day tribunal titled “State action in the name of countering terrorism and conversion: Experiences of Rajasthan”.

The observation that “IM is most likely a figment of the imagination of intelligence agencies” was made by Jamat-e-Islami Hind’s Rajasthan unit president Mohammed Salim at the tribunal. It was attributed to Dr. Sikand inadvertently. Dr. Sikand did not address the participants in the tribunal during the hearing.
