The State Cabinet on Friday decided that the government land given on lease to various people for different purposes will be taken back if the same had not been utilised within a period of three years from the date of allotment.
The Cabinet decided that the people who were not utilising the land given to them will be issued show cause notices to clarify as to why they had not used the land for the purpose for which they had taken it, and the land will be taken back if the reply would not be found to be satisfactory.
The Cabinet also took a decision that the 40,000 government employees whose jobs had not been made permanent so far will be regularised if they passed in a department examination. The age limit for such employees who had completed at least six years in their post will be relaxed up to 45 years of age.
Besides, the Cabinet also decided that the names of both father and mother will be mentioned in the birth and death certificates in the days to come.
The Cabinet gave its approval to a total of 17 proposals, which also include allotment of some additional land to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar.
