Former Haryana Minister Gopal Goyal Kanda, accused of abetting the suicide of an ex-airhostess, on Monday told the Delhi High Court that he will not seek interim bail from the trial court for attending the Assembly session.

Appearing for Kanda, senior advocate Ramesh Gupta assured Justice J.R. Midha that his client will not seek “interim bail to attend the Assembly session”. Accepting Kanda’s submission, the court disposed of a police plea seeking cancellation of his bail. Kanda has already spent 13 months in custody and was granted a month-long interim bail on September 4 to attend the State Assembly session. — PTI
