Rain at many places

Southwest monsoon has been vigorous in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and active in east Uttar Pradesh.

NEW DELHI: RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, at a few places in east Rajasthan and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: HARYANA: (6 cm and above) Ambala 13, Chandigarh and Ayanagar 11 each, New Delhi (SFD) and Ganaur 9 each, Delhi Ridge 7 and Ateli, Faridabad, Kanina, Jatusana and Hodal 6 each, HIMACHAL PRADESH: (6 cm and above) Gohar 13, Jubbal and Banjar 11 each, Dharampur, Kasauli and Solan 10 each, Kumarsain and Kandaghat 9 each, Rohru 8, Aghar, Karsog, Sundernagar, Kotkhai, Shimla, Arki, Hamirpur, Mehre and Sunnibhajji 7 each and Jogindernagar, Rajgarh, Kalpa, Kahu, Sangla and Pandoh 6 each, PUNJAB: Patiala 7, Anandpur Sahib and Nangal 6 each, Ropar 3, Samana 2 and Balachaur and Nawanshahar 1 each, EAST RAJASTHAN: (5 cm and above) Atrauli 11, Malakhera 7, Thanagazi and Sapotra 6 each and Rajgarh, Mangrol and Pipalda 5 each, EAST UTTAR PRADESH: (3 cm and above) Banda 10, Tutipar and Salimpur 4 each and Bansgaon, Gorakhpur and Birdghat 3 each, WEST UTTAR PRADESH: (5 cm and above) Nagina 16, Bijnor 11, Nazibabad 10, Chaata, Baghpat, Moradabad and Deoband 7 each and Meerut, Dhampur, Amroha, Mahroni, Mathura and Budhana 5 each and UTTARAKHAND: (5 cm and above) Nainital 12, Mukteshwar and Patti 9 each, Kotdwar, Kausani, Banbasa, Dharchula and Kheti Khan 6 each and Gangolihat, Marora, Bageshwar and Berinag 5 each.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 12th September 2009: Rain/thundershowers will occur at most places in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, at many places in Haryana (including Chandigarh and Delhi), east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and likely at a few places in the rest of the region.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand with isolated extremely heavy fall during the next 48 hours. Isolated heavy rain is likely in Haryana (including Chandigarh and Delhi), east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh during the same period.
