Dry weather

Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing in most parts of west Rajasthan and in some parts of Haryana, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Cold day conditions are prevailing over Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. They are likely to continue during next 24 hours.

RAINFALL : Weather was dry over the region.

MINIMUM: The minimum temperatures changed little over the region. They were appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Haryana and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was -01.3ºC recorded at Bikaner Airport (Rajasthan).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 08th January 2011: Rain/snow could occur at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir during next 24 hours and at a few places thereafter. Rain/snow could occur at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in rest of the region.

LOW TEMPERATURE WARNING: Ground frost is likely to occur in some parts of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during next two nights.

FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 08th January 2011: Cold day conditions are likely to continue.
