Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta on Sunday accused the State Government of massive corruption during the Commonwealth Games and criticised it for its “failure” to provide basic amenities to large sections of the population.

Pol Khol rallies

Addressing a rally organised at Burari here, Mr. Gupta said the BJP will force the Congress-rule Governments at the Central and in Delhi to account for every single paisa spent on the Commonwealth Games. He demanded action against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister M.S. Gill and Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi. “ Pol Khol rallies will be held across Delhi to expose the corruption and failures of the Government,” Mr. Gupta announced.

BPL card distribution

The BJP leader accused Congress leaders of failure to distribute BPL cards to needy and genuine persons. “Ration shop-keepers, Food Department officials, local Congress leaders are earning lakhs of rupees illegally by making fake entries on distribution of wheat, rice, sugar and kerosene on these cards. The guilty persons should be sent to jail after inquiry in this case,” he demanded.

Mr. Gupta asked for pucca houses to be provided to underprivileged sections at cheap rates. The BJP president also demanded the extension of the Delhi Metro rail network and posting of more doctors at hospitals to counter the threat of communicable diseases.
