The Delhi Jal Board has announced that on account of emergency repair work at the Okhla mains, water supply will be available at low pressure on Friday and Saturday at Dakshinpuri, Shekh Sarai Phase-II, Madangir, Tigri, Greater Kailash Part-I, East of Kailash, Sant Nagar, Kailash Colony, Panchsheel Park, Panchsheel Enclave, Udai Park, Niti Bagh, Vasant Kunj, Apollo Hospital, Okhla, Sarita Vihar and adjoining areas on the command of the Sonia Vihar water treatment plant in South Delhi. Water supply will also be affected at Bapa Nagar, Tank Road, Dev Nagar, Regarpura, Muniraka DDA Flats, Swastya Vihar, Shankar Vihar, Chitra Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Gagan Vihar, Gujarat Vihar, Sukh Vihar, Guru Angad, Surajmal Vihar, Vishwas Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, Yojna Vihar, Shreshta Vihar, Jwala Nagar, CPS Flats East of Kailash, Sultanpuri and Peeragarhi.
Meanwhile large parts of South Delhi will go without water over the weekend. “We are laying new unified mains between the Laxmi Nagar chungi and Smriti Van. This is being done to replace the existing pipelines that are old ,” said a DJB official.
The old pipelines had developed a number of breaches in the past year that led to water-logging on the busy Ring Road.
