The State Election Commission on Monday put the overall voting percentage for the newly trifurcated Municipal Corporation of Delhi held on Sunday at 55 per cent.

State Election Commissioner Rakesh Mehta said while the highest voting was recorded in East Corporation at 57 per cent, it was followed by North Corporation at 55 per cent and South Corporation at 53 per cent.

The Commission said by and large the East Corporation recorded the highest voting in percentage terms with most of the constituencies being in higher 50 per cents and lower 60 per cents. The North Corporation areas overall ranged between the mid 50s and a few low 60s. And in South Corporation the voting percentage varied between the mid 50s and the high 40s.
