Two young men have been arrested for allegedly killing a 29-year-old man over a monetary dispute in Najafgarh here this past week.

The incident came to light on Tuesday when the body of one Dhiraj Jain was found in Najafarh. His face and head had been smashed with a stone. Police investigations revealed that he was last spotted with Akash, son of a senior Fire Service officer, and his friend Chetan.

“We have arrested both the accused after they confessed that they had murdered the victim,” said a police officer. Police enquiries revealed that Akash and his friend were at a market in Najafgarh where they met Dhiraj. They then went to Uttam Nagar from where they returned to Najafgarh. While the police are yet to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the murder, they suspect that an altercation broke out between them over a monetary dispute.

The accused persons then attacked Dhiraj and smashed his head with a stone.
