Two young men have been arrested by the Outer Delhi Police for allegedly withdrawing Rs.24 lakh from a bank account through fraudulent means.

Jagbir Singh, a resident of Narela, lodged a complaint with the police on November 5 saying that Rs.24 lakh had been withdrawn from his account using debit card. Taking up investigation, the police arrested Rajesh (25) and Naresh (22), both residents of Haryana.

It was revealed during interrogation of the accused that Mr. Singh had sought their help to withdraw Rs.10,000 from an ATM outlet in Narela on November 1. The accused cleverly changed the debit card of the victim with another card and later abused it to withdraw money. The police claim to have recovered Rs.3.5 lakh and some gold jewellery purchased with the stolen money.
