NEW DELHI: A court here on Thursday sentenced two persons to life imprisonment for killing a Delhi police constable when he tried to search their car while they were consuming liquor in 2001.

“The accused were found to be drinking liquor in the car at a public place. But apprehending their arrest, accused Vijay Kumar Shukla and Rajesh Raja shot at constable Krishan,” Additional Sessions Judge Shalinder Kaur concluded.

The court awarded life term and imposed a fine Rs 2,500 each on Vijay and Rajesh.
