To keep them abreast of challenges of modern-day policing and changing laws, Delhi Police have launched a weekly training programme for its senior officials on Saturday.

Sessions will be held every Saturday at Police Training Academy in Chanakyapuri and will be attended by officials of the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police and above.

In the inaugural session, officials discussed investigation of the December 16 gang-rape incident, its charge sheet and the modern forensic techniques which were used to make a strong case against the accused.

“Crime has changed and so is the ways to prevent and investigate it. This is a reorientation programme and also a platform to learn new skills and techniques,” said Delhi Police PRO Rajan Bhagat.
