NEW DELHI: The third phase of the ongoing agitation by traders against the sealing of shops in residential areas across the Capital will begin at Jantar Mantar this coming Monday.
Besides staging a five-day dharna at the site, trade organisations will also launch a signature campaign over the weekend. Signatures of lakhs of traders and their employees will be collected and submitted to President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
During the agitation, trade leaders will also submit memorandums to Members of Parliament, Members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly and Councillors of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi seeking their support. Delhi Traders' Sangharsh Morcha president Ramesh Khanna, who has been nominated as convenor, informed that trade organisations from different parts of the city will take part in the dharna on different days.
Trans-Yamuna trade organisations will participate in the dharna on April 17, while Pitampura, Rohini and Rani Bagh trade organisations will lend their support on April 18.
South Delhi trade organisations will join the protesters on April 19. Traders from Najafgarh and Pankha Road will participate on April 20 and from Rajouri Garden on April 21.
