Three young men who allegedly abducted and murdered a property dealer over a monetary dispute have been arrested at Kanjhawala in Outer Delhi.

A hunt has been launched for the fourth accused.

The police on November 3 received a complaint from Jasbir, a resident of Rani Khera, alleging that his nephew Manish had gone missing.

The victim was last seen on the afternoon of October 29. His mobile phone location was found to be somewhere at Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh, after which a policeman was sent there for further investigation.

While efforts were under way to trace Manish, the police zeroed in on a suspect named Yogesh Dabas (24), who during interrogation purportedly confessed to having murdered Manish along with his accomplices. At his instance, the other accused, Sanjay (23) and Shehzad (19), were also arrested.

Fourth accused missing

The victim's body that was buried in a vacant plot at Bhagya Vihar was exhumed over the weekend, on the basis of the disclosures made by the three accused.

“Raids are being mounted for the fourth accused, Bahadur,” said a police officer.

The accused disclosed that there was a long-standing property dispute between the victim's family and his relative Yogesh, a property dealer.

“The two families had sold a plot jointly and the dispute was about sharing the money. Yogesh felt cheated by his cousins and planned to eliminate Manish, the elder son of his cousin Satish,” said the officer.

On the fateful day, Manish was at his property dealing office when he along with the accused consumed liquor. When he was in an inebriated state, they strangled him and then buried the body in a vacant plot. Sanjay and Shehzad worked as labourers.
