NEW DELHI: Two women and a man were arrested in Kamla Market here on Thursday on charges of trading a minor girl for Rs.50,000.

Acting on a tip-off that a 16-year-old girl had been brought to a brothel on G. B. Road, Station House Officer Surenderjeet Kaur rescued the victim on Thursday. The girl disclosed that she was from Solapur in Maharashtra. She was married about six months ago but her husband, who was an alcoholic, used to torture her.

She started living with her parents and later fled to Mumbai where she met one Santosh and his wife, who promised to get her a good job in Delhi. Santosh brought her to Delhi a fortnight ago and criminally assaulted her. He then allegedly sold her to a brothel owner on Wednesday night.
