Senior Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav on Saturday threatened to take Bahujan Samaj Party MLAs “hostage” if the U.P. Government does not withdraw additional security provided to its Ministers, who are “misusing” the extended protection.

The BSP MLAs and Ministers were misusing the extended escort security given to them during the recent local bodies elections, Mr. Yadav alleged. “In case this security is not withdrawn and its misuse stopped immediately, SP would ask its workers to take people misusing security as hostage and release them only after intervention of respective District Magistrates and SSPs,” Mr. Yadav threatened.
