This year’s edition of the popular painting competition for school children, The Hindu Young World Painting Competition, is back in the Capital.

The finals will take place at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on Kasturba Gandhi Marg here from 9-30 a.m. to 11-30 a.m. this Sunday (February 10).

The competition is also being held in 15 cities across South India.

This painting competition is an integral part of the NIE programme of The Hindu and attracts talented young minds apart from promoting healthy competition among schools.

The competition is open to students from Class IV to VII in the junior category and Class VIII to Class X in the senior category.

The first three winners will be awarded Rs.5.000, Rs.3,000 and Rs.2,000 respectively in the senior category and Rs.3,000, Rs.2,000 and Rs.1,000 in the junior category.

Also, there is a consolation prize of Rs.500 to seven participants in both the categories.
