An 18-year-old boy was kidnapped and murdered and his body was dumped allegedly by his friends at Rohini here on Wednesday. While the body has been recovered, the police have arrested two young men and are on the lookout for two more suspects.

Ashish Kumar Garg, a resident of Sector 22 of Dwarka, went missing after he left home on Wednesday afternoon to watch a movie with his friends. He assisted his father Ashok Garg in the family's textile business.

Satbir Gupta, an acquaintance of Mr. Garg, said around 3 p.m. Ashish, the eldest among the three siblings, told his father over the phone that he would be back soon. However, his mobile phone was later found switched off and he did not return. Mr. Garg later received a call claiming that his son had been kidnapped. The caller demanded a ransom of Rs.50 lakh for his release.

It is learnt that Mr Garg identified the caller by his voice as a friend of his son. Suspecting that Ashish's life was in danger, he informed the police and got a case registered. Subsequently surveillance was mounted on the suspects. Through negotiations, the kidnappers scaled down the ransom amount to Rs.30 lakh. Two of them, Rubul and Sunny, were arrested when they allegedly came to collect the money.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they called Ashish to a place on the pretext of watching a movie and then kidnapped him. They allegedly made the victim consume sedatives and took him to a house at Naharpur in Rohini where they murdered him and then dumped the body. At their instance, the police is learnt to have recovered the body.

The two accused are being interrogated to identify the others involved in the kidnapping and murder.
