A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men after being made to consume a beverage that was spiked with alcohol at Safdarjung Enclave in South Delhi earlier this week.
Two of the accused were known to the victim.
According to the victim, two of the accused — who were known to her — picked her up in a car near her residence around 7-30 p.m. on the pretext of a joyride. Oblivious of their plan, she went along with them.
They stopped at an isolated place in the Kamal Cinema parking lot where the third accused joined them.
They offered her a cold drink, but she refused. The three — identified as Rohit, Tinku and Narender — then allegedly forced her to consume a cold drink and then raped her.
The accused then dropped her home around midnight and drove away.
Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and launched a hunt for the accused persons.
The vehicle used in the commission of crime has been impounded from the house of one of the accused.
