NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday rejected at the admission stage, a public interest petition filed by a former Member of Parliament, for declaring the seats of 130 pro-Telangana MLAs vacant in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly treating their resignations as deemed to have been accepted by the Speaker the moment he had received the letters.

A three-Judge Bench of Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Justice J.M. Panchal and Justice Deepak Verma questioned the locus standi of the petitioner M. Narayana Reddi in seeking the resignations to be accepted.
