The North Delhi Municipal Corporation will conduct a month-long “special drive for mutation of property” and will set up camps at its zonal offices from next Wednesday.
“The drive will begin from August 1 for a month and residents whose applications have been pending or were rejected can submit fresh applications,” said Rajesh Bhatia, Chairman of the High Powered Property Taxes Committee, at a press conference here on Friday.
“The department will check the submitted documents and notice will be sent before September 15 so that applicants can complete the formalities till the end of September.” Mutation of property will be granted by October 4.This decision was taken in a high level meeting where North Delhi Mayor Mira Aggarwal and Assessor and Collector, M. S. A. Khan were also present. Mr. Bhatia said that directions have been given to the department that in every zonal office, a board outside the office will display the list of necessary documents required for mutation of property and necessary steps should be taken to inform the citizens about this drive.
“Even though the processing fee for mutation of property is only Rs.150, the procedure is tedious and officials take months to complete the formalities. The aim of this drive is to provide convenience to the public,” said Mr. Bhatia. He further added that residents can write to him personally if they face any inconveniences or if officials are causing any hindrances.
