NEW DELHI: A slip of tongue by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday had Congress workers attending the party’s 125th Foundation Day celebrations in splits.

“I would also like to thank Jayaprakash Narayanji,” said Ms. Dikshit, leading to laughter from party president Sonia Gandhi and party workers. The Chief Minister soon corrected herself by saying that it was Delhi Congress Committee president Jai Prakash Agarwal she was referring to. “Aapko hasana bhi tha, na! (I wanted to make you laugh!),” quipped Ms. Dikshit, who was delivering the vote of thanks.
