NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit visited the family of Abhinav Puri, who was killed in a crane mishap this past month, at their residence in Tilak Nagar here on Friday and assured them of financial help.

The victim's mother, Isha Puri, told Ms. Dikshit that she had taken a loan of Rs.10 lakh to send Abhinav to Australia for higher studies and was facing difficulty in repaying it. Her husband had died 20 years ago.The Chief Minister assured Ms. Puri that the Delhi Government would talk to the bank concerned with a request to waive off the loan amount. She also assured her that compensation would be paid to the family and a scholarship provided to her younger son Robin for higher education. Abhinav (28), was returning home in an Alto car late on February 28 when a crane toppled over his car near a flyover.
