Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and two of her Cabinet colleagues on Wednesday visited the residence of Radhika Tanwar, the Delhi University student who was shot dead at Dhaula Kuan in South Delhi on Tuesday, to pay their condolences to the grief-stricken family.

Ms. Dikshit was accompanied by Women and Child Development Minister Kiran Walia and Labour and Industries Minister Ramakant Goswami. The Chief Minister met Radhika's parents and expressed her grief over the tragic incident.

Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Vijay Goel also visited the victim's residence. In a press statement, Mr. Goel said he would make a representation to the Delhi Police Commissioner on the issue of deteriorating law and order situation in the Capital.

‘Remain vigilant'

He also urged the residents' welfare associations to remain more vigilant and security conscious against miscreants and criminal elements. He appealed to the citizens to help women and other weak targets for criminals.

The BJP workers led by senior leaders Vijender Gupta also took out a “candle march” in Naraina Village and met the family members of the victim.
