Seven minor girls working as domestic helps have been rescued by the Central Delhi Police in separate cases. The rescue operation was jointly carried out with Shakti Vahini, a non-government organisation.

Six girls were rescued from different houses in Old Rajendra Nagar. Later, another minor girl was rescued from a house. The girls belong to Jharkhand, Assam and West Bengal. They told the police that they were made to work for 18 hours and not paid anything. Two cases have been registered under the Bonded Labour Act.
